Content | Topic of the Lecture : Augmenting Korean Emotion Data using the ChatGPT text generation
View Main Points of the Lecture This study focuses on text data augmentation as an effective strategy to address the limited sample size problem in natural language processing(NLP) tasks. This issue is particularly prominent in learning scenarios where data from the target domain is scarce and of low quality. A common and intuitive approach to mitigate these challenges is to perform data augmentation on the training data to better capture data invariance and increase the sample size. In cases where only emotion words from a dictionary exist without example sentences, utilization becomes difficult. This research proposes a text data augmentation approach based on ChatGPT, an advanced large-scale language model with improved language understanding capabilities. By augmenting Korean emotion data by more than twenty times, the study tests the model’s accuracy by applying a classification method based on 24 emotions and Ekman’s (1972) six emotion categories. First, the performance of the model is measured using a Korean emotion dataset consisting of words (19,617) meanings (19,617), and examples (9,335), and it is found that the model’s performance improves from a minimum of 41% to a maximum of 73% when ChatGPT-generated sentences (400,166) are added to augent the data. Additionally, a total of 164,421 sentences are generated to balance the samples with 20,000 sentences per emotion, totaling 480,000 sentences, and in this case, the balanced emotion model’s performance increases to 75%. When the Korean emotions are integrated into Ekman’s (1972) six emotions and neutral emotion, the model’s performance improves to 82%. This demonstrates the potential for expanding the applicability of Korean emotion datasets in the field of artificial intelligence and promoting the development of various emotion recognition models and application cases based on this foundation. |

Content | Topic of the Lecture : Revolutionizing AI with ChatGPT : A New Leap Forward
Main Points of the Lecture : Large Language Models (LLM) such as ChatGPT show amazing conversation and emergent abilities, but they also tell baseless lies at the same time. LLM is composed of a huge neural network, making it difficult to understand the internal operational principle. Therefore, proper regulation and consideration are required for the use of AI. It is necessary to understand and utilize the limitations and nature of AI. Also, ethical concerns must be shared for the future that coexists with AI. |
